For more than 40 years, actor Tony Curtis appeared on stage, screen, and on TV. When I interviewed him for my “About the Books” podcast on March 8, 2009, I did not realize I would be recording a last bit of his history. Curtis, who died on September 29, 2010, talked candidly about his love life and his career, his life on a Nevada ranch with his wife, Jill Curtis. In a poignant note, he recalled his relationship with Marilyn Monroe, with whom he co-starred in Some Like It Hot.
TONY CURTIS audio excerpt: “Marlon Brando would take little turns in a moment of speech. As he said one line, it was if he hated you. As he said the next line, he charmed you. I, on the other hand, was a lot more pedantic.”

Kate Sullivan is the editor and host of WordSmitten Media, a group of journalists who began reporting on the book publishing industry in 1999 beginning with its online site, www.WordSmitten.com (the people, the books, the business of writing). The site provides insider reports on literary agents, editors, and book publishing executives and events. That was fun, and they decided to create www.wordsmittenmedia.com, to expand their services. So, we have www.WordSmittenMedia.com for clients and the “classic” www.WordSmitten.com, as a gateway for writers who want to be professionally published by mainstream New York City book publishers.
